Simulator Background
Properties:
To open the simulator background
Properties
Box, depress Select.
Then double-click or control-click in a clear area of the
simulation window.
In the Properties Box, you can set these
properties:
- Burnout
current for tall
bulb. The
current required to permanently burn out a
tall
bulb (see figure to
right). Burned-out bulbs must be discarded
(deleted). They cannot be reused. Default
burn-out current is 0.160 amps (160
mA).

- Burnout current
for round bulb. Same as
above for round
bulbs. Default burn-out
current for round bulbs is 0.625 amps (625
mA).
- Standard arrow
length. Current
arrows with a standard arrow
length indicate a current
number of 1.0, i.e., a
standard
current. Default length is
60 pixels.
- Current arrow
color. The color of
current
arrows. Choices are
black (default), blue, and
red.
- Standard
current. The current
corresponding to a current
number of 1.0 and a
standard current
arrow length. Default is
37.5 mA, which is the current running through a
40 ohm light
bulb connected to a 1.5
volt battery.
- Standard
compass deflection. The
deflection of a compass
needle by the magnetic field of a wire carrying a
standard
current (with a
current
number of
1.0).
- Show clock.
Show or hide the
clock.
Default is to hide.
