Pendulum & Ball (conductor): Click anywhere on an electrophorus to attach the pendulum to the pole sticking out of the electrophorus. The ball is connected to the pole by a short string that leaves the ball free to swing back and forth. The string is long enough so that the ball can touch the conducting part of the electrophorus or touch another electrophorus. In the pendulum's Properties Box, you can set the ball's charge and either show or not show the Model View. A pendulum ball can exchange charge with an electrophorus or an insulator through direct contact. The ball can also exchange charge with an electrophorus by touching the lead of a neon bulb attached to the conductor. |
