Distance Meter Slider: Place on the Ruler. With Select depressed, you can move the slider along the ruler. The digital readout gives the horizontal distance from the position of the pendulum when no Coulomb forces are present. The red line hanging down from the slider allows you to accurately determine the horizontal displacement of the pendulum ball caused by the Coulomb force.
