Force Diagram Tool: This tool opens a window that displays the forces acting upon a chosen body element (particle). To open a Force Diagram window, click on this button and then click on a body element. A window with the title Force Diagram of body name (body name is the name you assign to the body, or "Body" and a number by default). The diagram shows the same picture of the body element that appears in the simulation window. It also appears at the same size. The diagram displays the forces acting upon the body, including those associated with acceleration vectors. Impulsive forces (due to either vectors or thrusters) appear as gray vectors that only contribute to the total force during the impulse. The Force Diagram window displays forces during both Stop and Run modes. The Force Diagram window has three buttons:
On a PC, you can enlarge a Force Diagram window by moving the cursor to one of the bottom corners of the window. Move the mouse around until the cursor turns into a double-headed arrow. Then click-and-drag the window to a larger size. This is not as simple as it sounds, because finding that spot where the mouse cursor turns into an arrow is not always easy! |
