Slope Meter: The Slope Meter measures the slope of the plot drawn by the Graph Tool. It functions only in Pause mode and Stop mode. Place a slope meter by clicking on a graph tool. The meter appears below the graph tool and is attached to it. You may only place two slope meters. Details for operating the slope meter are provided next to the figure below.

In the figure to the right, the graph tool plots the kinetic energy of Parent (a body element) against time.

The slope meter displays the slope of the curve at x0. You set x0 by moving the meter itself.

To display the red slope line, you need to click-and-drag the switch into the up (on) position (the initial setting is down [off]).

You cannot adjust the switch in Pause mode, and you can only move the meter with arrow keys if it is selected.

In the meter's Properties Box, you can set the units shown by the meter's display. The default value is:

graph's vertical scale label default / graph's horizontal scale label default

Note that changing the graph tool's scale labels from their default values does not change the display on the slope meter.
