Your Own Material. Place a material of your own design by clicking on the Ideal Material button and then clicking in either the Material A Region or the Material B Region. In the material's Properties Box, you can choose the color of the ideal material.

To set the percentage of light of different colors reflected by the material, depress the Select button. Then click on the Open Material A Graph or Open Material B Graph buttons. Position the cursor inside the blue bar at the desired value of blue reflection percentage. The cursor should take the form of a hand (Figure 1). Click once. The bar should fill up to the reflection level you chose (Figure 2).

The method described above is the simplest way to set the light reflection level. You can also set the value using a click-and-drag method. Move the cursor to the zero reflection line below the green bar. Tweek its position until it takes the shape of a double-headed arrow (Figure 3). Then click-and-drag the cursor upward to the desired value of green reflection percentage (Figure 4).

To show the bars for Infrared and Ultraviolet reflection percentages, open the background properties and check the box show non-visible light.

To see the spectrum of light from a particular source reflected by the material, use the Spectroscope tool.

n the source's Properties Box, under intensity, you can choose to fix the reflection graph so that you can no longer adjust the reflection settings, or you can check change reflection graph, the default setting, to enable the user to modify reflection percentages.

You can use the Paste button to replace the default image for the material. The image you choose must first be placed on the CIPS Java Clipboard by the snapshot tool or from the Image Palette.
