Microphone: During Run mode, the microphone picks up sound waves emitted by point sources and speakers. You can only place microphones in media rooms (Smart Sound Rooms and Connecting Sound Rooms). Once you put a microphone in a media room, you can move it freely within the room, but you cannot move it out of that room. During Run mode, the microphone can move on its own in the Smart Sound Room if you first attach a velocity vector to it.

Microphones transmit the sound waves they detect to the tape recorder or the wave measurement tools to which they are wired.
