Signal Generator: The signal generator produces periodic waves and outputs them as a continuous signal. The signal generator displays the frequency of the current outgoing signal. You can place up to ten signal generators and move them freely around the simulation window.

In Stop mode, you can see the charcteristics of waves produced by a signal generator by wiring it to wave measurement tools. However, you can only hear the signal generator's output (directly) by wiring the generator to the tape recorder, which only plays during Run mode.

In the signal generator's Properties Box, you can set the frequency (default is 150 Hz), amplitude (default is 99, or 15.19 db [see the sound level meter]), and initial phase (in radians) of the generated wave. You can also choose the output wave form: sinusoidal (the default), triangular, or square.

The signal generator is one of nine sound sources in Sound Lab.
