Hammer Tool: Use the Hammer tool to produce sound waves from most sound sources in Stop mode. Depress the Hammer button and then click on a phone button, a piano key, a tuning fork, guitar, violin, flute, trumpet, or drum. You will hear the sound the object makes. If the sound source is connected to a measurement tool (oscilloscope, Fourier analyzer, frequency meter, sound level meter), you will also see the corresponding sound wave data.

You also use the Hammer tool to choose (and unchoose) sustained phone buttons and piano keys.
