Wire Tool: Use the Wire tool to connect sound sources and microphones to the tape recorder and measurement tools, possibly through branch boxes or Fourier combiners.

To connect two objects with a wire, click down on the output of the source object. You should hear a click; if you don't, release the mouse and try again. If you do, hold down the mouse button and drag the cursor to the input of the target object. When you hear the click, release the mouse button. You can also connect two objects by starting at the input.

The wire that forms along the path of the cursor is an independent object. It is actually born when you first click down on the output (input). If you release the mouse before reaching the target input (output), you can just depress the Select button, click on the free lead of the wire, and drag it to the target. You can use the same method to rewire objects; that is, you can disconnect a wire lead from one object and connect it to another object.

As independent objects, wires do not disappear when you delete the objects connected through them. Instead, they remain in the simulation window. With the Select tool, you can move and resize wires. Wires (should) remain connected when you move wired objects or when wired objects move (see the velocity vector). Wires resize automatically when connected objects move.
