Julia Kregenow Biography
Dr. Kregenow is a Teaching Professor in the Department of Astronomy & Astrophysics at Penn State University. She specializes in teaching astronomy to non-science majors, and mentoring faculty and TAs on teaching. She completed her PhD in Astrophysics at the University of California Berkeley in 2007 after getting her BA in Physics at Wittenberg University. Before joining the Penn State faculty in 2009, Julia was a science policy fellow at the National Academies in Washington DC, and subsequently taught physics and astronomy as an adjunct faculty member at Cornell University and Ithaca College while working on a Physics Education Research project at Ithaca College. Julia is passionate about good communication, inclusivity, and loves writing. Julia frequently presents teaching workshops and seminars locally and nationally, and has won several teaching awards.
