  1. What did you notice in this episode? Talk to your neighbor about what you noticed.

  2. What is the first sign that the students are troubled? Do they seem bothered when they first interact with Luke?

  3. Luke’s question, “Do you guys agree that it’s curved like that?” seems to be a source of trouble for the students. What about that question might bother them?

  4. It is worth considering the possibility that this interaction was not pleasant for Luke, either. Did the students do anything that might have made him uncomfortable?

  5. Identify at least two negative consequences of this interaction (either for the students, or for Luke).

     

  6. What does this episode suggest about instructor behaviors that are frustrating for students?
